Beautiful Earth the e-newsletter of Eric Zamora
As 2010 nears, the season for Florida photography is here and photographing for my Life on the Edge project is a top priority. After spending the summer and fall writing grants and developing partners for the project, I am ready to get out to Florida's spectacular Nature Coast and be a photographer once again! Read more about my project, Life on the Edge: The Story of Florida's Nature Coast.
Recently I canoed 25 miles of the Withlacoochee River. On Saturday November 14th three friends and I went 21 miles in one day to explore for karst features around little-known, spring-fed Blind Creek deep in the Chassahowitzka Swamp. Read about these trips on my blog: Chassahowitzka Exploration and Withlacoochee River.
I spent Thanksgiving on the edge of the Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia at my uncle's cabin where he hunts each year. Photography and hunting share many similarities, and I learned poignant lessons about life and death during my week stay. You can read about these lessons on my blog: The Day After.
The 2010 Florida Forever Conservation Photography Calendar has been published and is available on my Web site for $17, which includes shipping. Your purchase will help fund Florida conservation efforts.
The International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP) is publishing a book titled "Our National Parks," which features 10 of my images. I will let you know when the book is released.
Lastly and most importantly ... Merry Christmas! As we say goodbye to 2009 and welcome a new beginning with the new year, I wish you the best in love and life.
Sincerely,
Eric
